SICF Announces New Leader - Byram Fager Named CEO

[MARION, IL, July 16, 2018] The Southern Illinois Community Foundation is pleased to announces that its Board of Directors has named Byram Fager as their new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2018.

Merwin and Villa Spencer Scholarship

The Southern Illinois Community Foundation (SICF.org) in partnership with the Murphysboro District 186 Education Foundation has received a $520,000 charitable gift from the estate of Lila Spencer Neilsen to establish a Scholarship Endowment Fund for college bound Murphysboro High School Students.

GivingTuesday

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.

New Fund - FOM Legacy Fund

Welcome to the new Friends of Murphysboro Legacy Fund.

The Friends of Murphysboro Foundation (FOM) has established the Friends of Murphysboro Legacy Fund to provide a lasting funding source for live music events at the Shell at Riverside Park in Murphysboro, IL.

2016 Jason Settlemoir - Keep the Music Playing - Memorial Scholarship Awarded

Dr. Curt Settlemoir, brother of Jason Settlemoir, presented the first annual Jason Settlemoir-Keep the Music Playing-Memorial Scholarship to Bethany Cottle at Benton Consolidated High School on May 26, 2016.

The Jason Settlemoir-Keep the Music Playing-Memorial Scholarship Fund was created last year at SICF in memory of Jason Settlemoir, a 1996 graduate of Benton Consolidated High School. He had been very active in the Fine Arts, playing trombone in the Band and Jazz Band, as well as participating in the Madrigals and Jazz Choir.

Flood Relief - Winter 2015-2016

The Southern Illinois Community Foundation is available to help the victims of the Winter 2015-2016 Flooding in Illinois. SICF's Regional Disaster Relief Fund will make sure that your donation is used to help the people that need help the most.

Ronald McDonald House Grant

SICF is pleased to anounce that it has received a grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities in Paducah, KY.  The grant was made to support the scholarship program that benefits students in Massac County.
